The Squaxin TANF Case Manager is responsible for providing day-to-day Case Management for the Squaxin Island TANF Site. The Case Manager is responsible for ensuring that the Squaxin Island TANF Case Management activities are performed within the parameters contained in the SPIPA TANF Policies and Procedures Manual and adhere to best practices in Case Management. The Case Manager reports directly to the Squaxin TANF Site Manger. The employee will maintain the office hours specific to Squaxin Island TANF site.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

- Provide case management services
- Meet with each assigned clients at least monthly to provide support and ensure compliance with Squaxin Island TANF objectives
- Develop client plans, conduct assessments, and deliver services.
- Attend site staff meetings.
- Attend weekly case management meetings.
- Advocate and support clients with other state/tribal agencies.
- Establish client case management files in database.
- Document and update client files on a daily basis in data base computer system.
- Uphold case management standards as defined in the SPIPA TANF Policy and Procedure Manual.
- Work closely with all tribal departments.
- Provide quality customer service including conflict resolution.
- Assist clients in completing all required SPIPA TANF documentation or documentation related to the removal of barriers.
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

- Applicant must have knowledge of TANF Program.
- The applicant must be able to communicate clearly verbally and in writing.
- The applicant must have strong computer skills with three plus years using Microsoft Office or similar software.
- Ability to work effectively, independently or cooperatively with others.
- The applicant must have the ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate good conflict resolutions skills.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Human Services, Social Work or related field with 1 year experience in case management and providing employment services to clients, OR Associates Degree in Human Services Field and 3 years experience in case management and providing employment services to clients, OR High School Diploma and 5 years experience in case management and providing employment services to clients. One year of experience working with Native communities is preferred.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Able to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must have a valid Washington State Drivers License and proof of insurance. Required to successfully pass Tribal Court and WA State background check.
