The Community Support Assistant will work with both TANF Case Management/TANF Education & Training staff with day to day office duties including the day to day operation of the Family Services Clothing Bank, assisting with referrals to other programs and other various office duties. The employee will maintain the office hours 7:30-4:00. Some flexibility will be required based on TANF events.

(Other duties may be assigned.)

·         Create dates, times and operation procedures for the clothing bank

·         Sort and clean items that are donated and dispose of unusable items

·         Work with various programs to coordinate use or disposal of clothing items

·         Work with TANF to determine referrals to other programs

·         Help collect relevant monthly forms for TANF Case Management E&T staff

·         Assist with filing monthly TANF Case Management and E & T documentation for client files

·         Responsible for handing out Monthly grants, Incentives, Purchase Orders, or support service requests

·         Will do the SPIPA mail run twice daily

·         Other duties as assigned

AA and one-year experience working with low-income families. High School diploma or GED and three years of experience working with low-income families.  One-year experience working in a Native American community preferred.  Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access preferred. 

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Must have a current Washington State Driver’s License. Must pass a Tribal and WATCH background check, including relevant criminal history.
