SUMMARY:
This position represents the SIGC in a professional manner, that requires technical and people skills. This position will verify age, appearance and legality upon arrival to the property. Must be able to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be 21 years of age and meet licensing criteria for a Class 3 employee.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Greet patrons and verify ID cards match age and appearance to permit entry.

Verify identification card used is acceptable to permit entry.

Scan card or input information to compare against barred list prior to permitting entry.

Ensure patrons are following the latest safety protocols.

Promote and practice safe working habits and helps to ensure the safety of patrons, community members and employees.

Must have the ability to operate a two-way radio. Properly respond to / receive transmissions from other Security Officers, Law Enforcement and other designated departments as assigned.

 Promote positive public relations in conjunction with accommodating and friendly customer service.

Must be able to work in setting possibly exposed to environmental conditions.

Interact with Law Enforcement and other regulatory agencies to ensure objectives are met.

Respectfully interact with the public and licensees maintaining a professional demeanor.

Perform shift work including, nights, weekends, and holidays as directed and as needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Previous security experience preferred. Ability to follow instruction, policy and procedures. Ability to work directly and collaboratively with Law Enforcement Officers.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
AA plus one year relevant experience. OR High School and three years relevant experience. Previous    customer service public relation experience. The successful applicant must have previous customer service public relation experience.  Applicant must be 21 years of age.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read English and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must have or be able to obtain a Class III Gaming License. Must successfully pass a criminal history background check and have a valid Washington State Driver’s License.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outdoor conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must have tolerance to work in a smoke filled environment.
