Fireworks General Use Permit

Starts Tomorrow

A Community giveaway event will be held at the end of this week, beginning on Thursday, June 18

A variety of items will be available, including office furniture, hotel furniture, lighting, and other miscellaneous items.

Location:
Items will be available for pickup in the parking lot adjacent to the parking garage at Little Creek Casino Resort, in the large white tent.

As always, Tribal Elders are invited to participate at any time and will have first choice of available items.

All items must be taken at the time of selection
We are unable to hold, reserve, or store items for later pickup

Fireworks Safety Tips for your Family

The excitement of the 4th of July with BBQ’s, outdoor fun, and fireworks is brewing! Here are a few tips to safely celebrating America’s 250^th birthday!

Closely supervise children around fireworks at all time.

Never light fireworks off indoors or by dry grass.

Don’t wear loose clothing while using fireworks.

Be careful with sparklers – they heat up to 1,200 degrees!

Help Us Name This New Place
Along Highway 101

Island Enterprises Inc. is planning a new development along Highway 101, and we want the community to be part of naming it.

The property is expected to include a Holiday Inn Express and Suites, a coffee shop, a sit-down restaurant, a Trading Post convenience store/fuel station, high speed fuel pumps and a new traffic circle featuring Squaxin artwork. This place will welcome travelers, serve the local community, and create a new landmark that reflects Squaxin identity and connection.

2026 CALL OUT FOR ARTWORK

This is a call out for artwork submissions for the 34th year of the Salmon Homecoming Alliance Event happening on Pier 58 (formerly known as Waterfront Park) and 62 on the Seattle waterfront in September 2026.

Our focus is the Northwest Coastal Tribes and their relationship to the indigenous salmon and the salmon’s relation, as a keystone species, to Orcas, seals, otters, eagles, wolves and much more. This year the artist is also being asked to submit a theme to accompany the artwork. Your artwork, if selected, will be featured on all our t-shirts, on our website and other selected printed materials.  All artwork submitted must be a minimum of 20 x 15 to be considered. Deadline is June 30th or sooner.

Compensation

A $1000.00 stipend will be paid for an original (non-digital) signed and numbered 1/1 (one of one) piece.

A $750.00 stipend will be paid for an original digital (one of a kind) signed and numbered 1/1 (one of one) piece on high quality paper

***NOTE: All rights to the artwork become the property of the Salmon Homecoming Alliance and cannot be duplicated or sold
