The Squaxin Island Tribe approaches economic development as part of caring for its people, lands, waters, and future generations.
Tribal enterprises help create independent revenue that supports essential services and long-term priorities. This includes health and wellness services, education, housing, elder support, youth programs, food sovereignty, cultural revitalization, natural resource restoration, environmental protection, public safety, infrastructure, employment, and community wellbeing.
The Tribe’s business activity includes gaming, retail, seafood and aquaculture, cannabis, fuel services, distribution, hospitality, and commercial development throughout Mason County, Thurston County, and South Puget Sound.
Island Enterprises, Inc., Skookum Creek Tobacco, and the Tribe’s gaming enterprises each operate under separate board and oversight structures established by the Squaxin Island Tribe.
Together, these efforts support economic stability while helping the Tribe invest in people, protect natural resources, strengthen cultural lifeways, and plan for future generations.
