Canoe Journey 2026

24-Foot Box Truck Driver Needed!

Moving camp will be limited to moving only seven times: camping will be starting with a layover in Suquamish from July 26-29, and finishing with camping in Nisqually from July 31 – August 5.

So, these days will be the only times the larger box truck will be moved.

A CDL isn’t needed, but the cab is similar to a Ford F650 Superduty. Proof of auto insurance is required.

This will be a paid driving contract.

Upcoming Mailbox Relocation

SE Klah-Che-Min Drive

Illustrated below, PCD is planning to move the existing mailbox cluster to a brand-new enclosure in August.

The new enclosure will be located just west of the current site on SE Klah-Che-Min Drive. To ensure safety during mail drop-offs and pickups, we are also constructing a new road shoulder approach.

What to Expect Next
LATE JULY:
Concrete slab completion and shoulder construction.
Please drive carefully around the work zone.

EARLY AUGUST:
Mailbox relocation.
We will send an advance notice with the exact date once confirmed.

We do not anticipate any interruptions to your mail service during this transition.

If you have any questions, please contact PCD at (360) 432-3952.

Attention Squaxin Tribal Veterans

This comes with the benefit of MyChart.

Help Us Name This New Place
Along Highway 101

Island Enterprises Inc. is planning a new development along Highway 101, and we want the community to be part of naming it.

The property is expected to include a Holiday Inn Express and Suites, a coffee shop, a sit-down restaurant, a Trading Post convenience store/fuel station, high speed fuel pumps and a new traffic circle featuring Squaxin artwork. This place will welcome travelers, serve the local community, and create a new landmark that reflects Squaxin identity and connection.

What should it be called?

Thought for the Day

Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure… than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that knows not victory nor defeat.
