Squaxin Island Tribal members harvest geoducks and other subtidal species of shellfish in their Usual and Accustomed Areas.
Annual permits and individual dive quotas are obtained through the tribal Department of Natural Resources in accordance with set tribal quotas determined through negotiations with Washington State as required by federal law.
Divers are required to pass annual physical exams and extensive dive training courses. They are also required to keep current on CPR training.
