SUMMARY:
Primary duty will be to assist in the front desk duties, as well as greet and direct visitors.  Attendance and punctuality are absolutely essential to this position. This position is a full time, temporary position. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Arrive to work on time each day;
  • Answer phones and direct calls
  • Greet and direct visitors
  • Schedule harvesters on shellfish harvest lists
  • Produce shellfish harvester lists and shellfish tags for the Shellfish monitor
  • File Treaty tickets
  • Issue hunting tags
  • Maintain tidiness of reception area and lobby daily
  • Other duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or equivalent and 1 year experience, OR 3 years of experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, another other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.

REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, i.e. clear vision at 20 inches or less; peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point) and an ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus).
